The Nationwide Mercury Music Prize will be unveiling its twelve nominees on Thursday, July 18.

The announcement will be made at 11.30am at a central London location by Jools Holland.

Album eligible for the prestigious prize must have been released between July 2005 and July 2006 by a UK based act.

The nominees will be hoping to follow the success of recent winners Franz Ferdinand, Antony and the Johnsons and Dizzee Rascal.
